I’m pleased to announce that I’m booking weddings for this season and beyond.

I have shot a few weddings over the years – one-off occasions in which the stars aligned and I was the right person for the right people at the right time. I loved these experiences, loved being part of such a special occasion and considered it a joy and an honor to be immersed with family, friends, and of course the soon-to-be-wed. Even more than that, I loved providing the couple with beautiful and important photographs, and finding in the process that there is some amazing work to be made.

Wedding photography is not my primary focus, but, strangely enough, that may be my greatest asset as a wedding photographer. I primarily shoot editorial work, and this has informed my documentary style. When I make photographs, I shoot as a journalist first, because that is the kind of work I am passionate about and do best. This extends to how I approach weddings; the portraits and scenes from the day would look at home in a magazine or newspaper: observational and intentional.

Part of this is the addition of shooting film which, differently than digital, can authentically capture the different moments and moods of your special day.   I love to shoot on film. Film slows down a moment, an incredible thing during a wonderful but often hectic wedding day; combine that with film’s unique colors, depth, and texture and you’re left with a one-of-a-kind image that more accurately captures the calm, intimate moments of the day.
